HAPPY CHRISTMAS FROM THE HAPPY STAY-AT-HOMES

Merry Christmas one and all !

As I start this blog update, we're at the beachhouse, on a glorious day- warm, but with a strong seabreeze to cool us. Everyone is down for the hols and we met heaps of friends down on the beach this a.m.., and other friends are coming to visit tomorrow! There are kids outside risking life, or at least limb, riding new toys down the hill, and every one is enjoying the post-Christmas glow!
We had a fun Christmas Day! The clan gathered at Nick and Mif's in South Yunderup for lunch/dinner. They have a large above ground pool for the kids, and are on a different canal, off the actual river. We had taken the pontoon boat over Christmas Eve so everyone could have a bit of a tour on Christmas Day.
Then yesterday, Boxing Day, we came up to Peron for our traditional leftovers lunch with Hans and Caroline. Spent a totally relaxed afternoon outside under the tree, just visiting, eating, and drinking (in that order).
Santa was awfully good to us, as usual. Of course you all know how very good we always are!! And we're as big kids about Christmas as any of the kids! In the run-up to Christmas, we also enjoyed a Christmas Lights tour in Mandurah and Carols by the canal, just across from us. Then Christmas Eve, Santa began his world rounds in South Yunderup -truly!- he was touring our canals, giving out lollies, as I left to take our boat around. Then, because as you know he can manipulate time to be in more than one place at a time, I saw him on a ute near the river, on a pontoon on the river and on another pontoon in the kids' canal! All in the space of 3/4 hour!!
Since my last blog update, we've been thoroughly enjoying just being home, bouncing back and forth between these 2 lovely places, Yunderup and Peron. It's been great to have the time to spend pottering around the houses, visiting family and friends and getting ready for Christmas. Spent a lovely day with a busload of neighbours and friends listening to jazz, eating and drinking at a local winery in a beautiful Aussie bush setting.

Our next adventure will start at the end of Jan. as we head out with the next two grandkids on a cruise from here, to various W.A. and Indonesian stops. Then my sister and a friend arrive and we're all off to Bali in March! So I'll try to keep up with the blog, but make no rash promises!!!

In the meantime, stay well and happy!

The Happy Wanderers
