Greetings To All Of You !What a long lovely warm summer we've had! Where to start?? It's been a great season and still shining on!!
Firstly, the Pt Peron 'P' Party was a great success and yours truly, the Purple People Eater likewise! And as usual the sports day was great fun for all.
There seem to be a disproportionate number of birthdays at this time of year; makes you wonder what was special about May-June to have so many babies in the summertime ?? Anyway, they make for a lot of fun family occasions. We celebrated birthdays early in the summer for Anne, Jett, Kye, Geoff, David, Caroline, and even for Leo, a visitor from Canada.

I finally got around to putting in the new garden behind the beachhouse, mostly with surplus plants from the 'jungle' at South Yunderup. I roped in lots of help, from other members at Peron, to grandkids. Olivia is pictured doing her 'job' with skill and vigour!!

This years annual Clean-up Australia was an outstanding success, with over 80 volunteers managing to clean the whole
peninsula !! Thanks to those of you who helped out !!
Anne had received an 'overseas trip' for her birthday, so last month she took me to Rottnest Island for three nights. We had a cabin just outside the settlement, but within walking distance. For three days we did all the touristy things, -bus and train
tours, walking tours, etc. We hadn't been over for close to twenty years, and thoroughly enjoyed it!

For Easter this year the family all met at Adventure World, by popular demand. Anne and I had some hesitation about us at a water playground, but the day worked out so well. The weather was perfect, and that's a great place, for adults, big kids and littlies alike.
Somewhere in there we had an ATC (Affordable Travel Club) couple, Peter and Janet, visit us at the beachhouse for one night. You meet a range of very congenial people through the club, as well as getting cheap accommodation.
We also hopped over to attend the big wedding and like most of the world, quite enjoyed it!
Since I started this, Mothers Day has come and gone; we had a breakfast at Pelicans by the river with Mif, the kids and Mif's Mum. All our other 'chicks' also checked in for nice long chats.
Now the push is on for the great winter escape! We've been catching up with various friends. Gay and Javier joined us for a very pleasant lunch at the beachhouse today; and we catch up with Hans and Caroline on Saturday. We leave the 27th May, with our first stop France. We're hiring a car and touring down from Paris to Andorra, the Costa Brava and Barcelona, staying with ATC members and with friends:- see you soon Carol and Terry!!
So take care all!! Looking forward to seeing all of you overseas, and hope those we leave behind here keep in touch over the next few months.
THE HAPPY WANDERERS -OFF AGAIN !
Annie and Kath
