Hi All
Sitting here at the beachhouse, enjoying our other ‘home’, the garden and trees, the beach, and wondering where Dec and January got to !!??
I’ll go back first to just after Hallowe’en, where I left the last blog- not just for continuity but before I start to forget it all!!
Christmas was full, fun, exciting and exhausting,-so what’s new?! Mif and Nick and kids went to Queensland for Christmas and the school holidays and had a wonderful visit. They were missed, big time, over Christmas and January, but are home now, camping in with us while they get their new home ready to move into.
As usual, Santa did his rounds at Yunderup on Christmas Eve., passing out lollies, and slaking his thirst regularly to keep his HO HO’s coming !
Boxing Day was our traditional relaxing under the tree at the beachhouse, eating up the leftovers, with Hans and Caroline. This year we were joined for the first time by a young Canadian cousin, Clint, and fiancee, Meg.
The summer since then is just flying by! As usual, we are wandering back and forth from Yunderup to Peron as the spirit moves. A bit of business, a bit of boating, a bit of work, a bit of beach! Some family, some friends, an outing to the theatre ! It’s a tricky balancing act, but we work at it ! In Jan. we had our annual beachhouse street party, with this years theme being the ‘sixties’. We all turned out in our hippy best and reminisced and danced the evening away.
Gearing up now for our 13th annual Cleanup Point Peron on March 4. Just in case you didn’t notice, this is a plug/reminder for those of you in W.A.; everyone else is excused. But we need all the volunteers we can get if we’re to clean the whole peninsula!? Please help, or enlist and send help ??
We’re expecting some Travel Club visitors from Canada early in March and an earlier Yule dinner than usual. Then it will be all stops out to get ready for our annual migration to Canada. This year we’re going earlier than usual, in mid-April and,- get ready for it – cruising from Sydney to Vancouver with stops at various Pacific islands
So that’s about all for now. Hope this finds you all as well as it leaves us.
Take care and be Happy
Anne and Kathie
